Report: Everton are now the 'clear favourites' as talks already held over summer signing

Everton have now been hit with the setback of Jack Grealish undergoing surgery on his foot.

No timeframe has been placed on Grealish’s return to action with an expectation that his season is now over.

David Moyes has been able to address the injury to the 30-year-old winger through the deadline day signing of Tyrique George.

The youngster has joined on an initial loan deal, with Grealish’s own future at Everton under real scrutiny ahead of the summer.

It is believed that Manchester City and Everton have discussed Grealish’s immediate future as he will now remain on Merseyside for his recovery.

And it seems as if the talks have even advanced ahead of possible summer negotiations regarding the winger’s future.

Sources have even suggested that a permanent move for Grealish this summer is now viewed as almost impossible.

He has now been given the go-ahead to find his next club, with no future at the Etihad Stadium.

The journalist said on X that Everton are ‘clear favourites’ to land Grealish again.

Grealish remains invested at Everton having been seen celebrating the victory at the weekend over his social media platforms.

The winger has certainly found himself a home on Merseyside, with Everton now given hope of another loan deal for the Englishman.

Another Grealish loan would be perfect for Everton

A lot of scrutiny will be placed over what clubs value Grealish ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

He will shortly turn 31 years old at the start of the new season and will be coming off the back of surgery.

Moyes had demanded more from Grealish in front of goal, having only scored twice in the Premier League for Everton.

With all of these factors taken into consideration, another loan would offer Everton a risk-free signing in the summer.

This should come as a real boost for the Blues.
