It comes amid increasing scrutiny over his position following a 16-game winless run in the Premier League.

Parker, however, insists his relationship with Pace is as strong as ever and he has no doubts over his position.

“Honestly, that relationship is one which is just concrete,” he said today, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

“Every single relationship, my relationship with the ownership has been very clear. It's very transparent and very honest.

“I have absolutely nothing but the full backing, nothing but the full backing. There is nothing that sits me here where I feel in a vulnerable position in any way.

“Now, at times I do question that, certainly where we are and what we do. It's only natural now in football.

“It's only natural that last year only, however long ago it was, you're a hero and within a few months you're the villain, so I understand that. But from the owner's side, absolutely nothing. “The day or the minute or the hour I feel that I'm not the right man, I'll be the first to shake someone's hand. I'd be very comfortable with that.

“That's because I care deeply about this football club. I care deeply about this group of players and if I feel that I can't affect that, or I feel that I'm a hindrance on that, then for sure that would be the case.

“Regarding the owner and regarding Alan and regarding the board, like I said, nothing but absolute full backing.”
