Jack Grealish is back in the headlines at Everton this week.
The England international just underwent a successful operation on the foot fracture which has abruptly ended his 2025/26 campaign on loan at Everton from Manchester City, receiving messages from Erling Haaland and Declan Rice amongst others on Instagram after posting about the surgery.
Jack Grealish is not expected to play at the Hill Dickinson Stadium again this term, but The i Paper have now shared interesting details about what could happen once the 30-year-old recovers.

Everton insiders are enthusiastic about signing Jack Grealish again and he is “open” to returning
The i Paper explain that, despite his broken foot, there is enthusiasm within Everton over a deal to bring Grealish back to Merseyside next season, whether it be another loan or a permanent move.
It is also said that the ‘noises’ coming from Manchester City suggest the Citizens are ready to make that possible if Everton signal a desire to do business again.
There remains a £50m purchase option in the current loan agreement for Grealish, but The i Paper say Everton value the 30-year-old closer to £20m due to the injury and the fact he turns 31 in September.
The Aston Villa academy graduate himself is said to be open to returning to Everton as well if the Toffees will have him, after enjoying his time at the club so far.

The i Paper say Everton believe the presence of Grealish helped to lure other players to the Hill Dickinson Stadium last summer.
The Toffees are said to feel the £100m man helped send a message out to other clubs that Everton are no longer here for annual relegation battles, and are targeting the upper echelons of the Premier League nowadays.
As aforesaid, the likes of Haaland and Rice wished Grealish well after his operation, so he is undoubtedly a popular presence and arguably does help to enhance the perception of Everton.
