Report: How much Everton can spend on signings this summer without European qualification

Everton spent no cash on a transfer fee during the winter window.

The only signing made by The Friedkin Group was the addition of Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea, who will have cost nothing more than a nominal loan fee.

Everton seem to be saving up for a heavy summer of recruitment for David Moyes to really kick on at the Hill Dickinson Stadium – and The i Paper have now shared the exact amount he has to play with in terms of a transfer budget.

If you could sign one player, who would it be Everton fans? 🤩

Everton have £70m to spend this summer

The i Paper say football finance experts tell them Everton have £70m to “comfortably” spend on new players this summer at this current moment in time, without having to worry about breaching any financial rules.

That figure could increase if Moyes guides the Toffees back into European football for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign – when Ronald Koeman took Everton into the UEFA Europa League.

Even finishing eighth could be enough to secure Europe depending on who wins the FA Cup this season, a position Everton currently occupy after the 2-1 win at Fulham last time out.

Everton already working on ways to make £70m budget stretch as far as possible

£70m is not actually a great deal of cash in modern football. Crystal Palace spent more than that in the winter transfer window on Brennan Johnson and Jorgen Strand Larsen alone.

Therefore, the Toffees are searching for cheap ways to fix issues within the squad, with the free transfer market being explored.

Everton are looking at Marco Senesi – according to reports – as the Argentine prepares to become a free agent when his Bournemouth contract ends this summer.

Furthermore, the Toffees approached Harry Wilson on deadline day after the Welshman entered the final six months of his deal at Fulham, and remain hopeful of landing the 28-year-old on a free transfer this summer.

What should be next for Seamus Coleman after his current Everton contract? 🤔

Can he really still provide an impact on the pitch… 😬

Should The Friedkin Group manage to bolster the attack and the defence with these two freebies, it would ensure that this £70m budget can go a lot further.
