Newcastle United have been rocked by a fresh injury blow for Lewis Miley - with the youngster missing out on selection at Spurs tonight.
Miley was initially deemed unfit ahead of the 4-1 hammering at Liverpool when Eddie Howe explained he could not bend his knee. That has seemingly developed into something more seriously with Howe describing the injury as a "bang on the leg" and "dead leg" with Miley suffering from a thigh issue.
The teenager did not pass a fitness test in the build-up to this game and could be missing for at least a fortnight. But Anthony Gordon did start in a rainy Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.

Gordon faced a late fitness test of his own but came through it to lead the line ahead of £124million summer signings Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.
Harvey Barnes starts on the left of attack and Kieran Trippier operates at right-back. In a surprise move Howe left Lewis Hall on the bench at Spurs.
Howe had said in the build-up to the game: "He [Miley] got a nasty bang to his leg. It’s like a dead leg that’s dragged on a little bit longer than we thought, so we’ll see how he is.
"Gordon, we’ll make a check on today and see how he’s progressing. Hopefully, there’s been a big improvement in him. Joelinton won’t make this game."
Another shock decision was that to axe Sandro Tonali. The Italian has been out of form and the subject of much transfer speculation over the last week.
However, ChronicleLive revealed earlier today that while Toon bosses and PIF are believed to be dismayed by the way Tonali's name has been circulated for a summer transfer they will approach what has been an unfortunate transfer saga in bullish manner.
UNITED: Pope; Trippier, Botman, Thiaw, Burn; Guimaraes, Willock, Ramsey; Elanga, Gordon, Barnes. Subs: Ramsdale, Hall, Tonali, Wissa, Osula, Murphy, Woltemade, Murphy, Shahar.
