The 29-year-old has since undergone surgery and is now back at Gawthorpe beginning the first steps in his recovery.
Cullen has now taken to Instagram to share an update on his rehab process, accompanied by video footage of him walking tentatively with the aid of crutches and a knee brace.
He also shared words of encouragement for supporters about the club’s current predicament, which has seen Scott Parker’s side endure a miserable 16-game winless run.

“Just over a month post operation now and after a couple of very painful weeks it feels good to be moving in the right direction and see signs of progression,” he penned.
