Crystal Palace could see the player head out the exit door at the end of the Premier League season

Crystal Palace secured a crucial 1-0 win away at rivals Brighton and Hove Albion. Ismaila Sarr scored their winner in the second-half at the AMEX Stadium against the Seagulls. The Eagles are now sat in 13th place in the Premier League after 23 fixtures.

Oliver Glasner’s side are nine points above the relegation zone. The FA Cup holders are back in action on Wednesday night as they aim to build some momentum now. They face a home clash against struggling Burnley at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace update emerges regarding Daichi Kamada’s future at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace playmaker Daichi Kamada is ‘set’ to leave at the end of the season, as per Sky Sports. He is out of contract in June and is due to become a free agent as things stand. The Japan international, who has 47 caps to his name, has made 24 appearances in all competitions in this campaign, 15 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with two assists.

Kamada, 29, joined the Eagles back in 2024 to add more competition and depth to their squad. He played 43 games altogether during his first year in England and found the net on three occasions. However, he is poised to depart later this year and pursue a new challenge somewhere else.

The attacking midfielder left Japan back in 2017 after an eye-catching spell at Sagan Tosu. He subsequently spent six years in Germany at Eintracht Frankfurt, a chunk of which was under Glasner, and he fired 40 goals in 179 matches before Lazio came calling. However, his time in Italy didn’t really go to plan though and he was allowed to leave after 12 months to join up with Crystal Palace.

Where next for Daichi Kamada amid Crystal Palace decision

It remains to be seen where Kamada will end up next. He is likely to attract attention from across Europe, especially on a free transfer. His impending departure from Crystal Palace will free up space and funds in their squad.

After signing for Crystal Palace, Kamada said at the time: “I’m excited to be joining Crystal Palace, and to be working with Oliver – who is a coach I know well – again. I am looking forward to testing myself in the Premier League, and hopefully the club and I can achieve all of our objectives together.”

Meanwhile, chairman Steve Parish added: “Daichi is a truly exceptional talent. He has been one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders in recent seasons and his experience, technical quality and commitment mark him out as an excellent addition to our already talented squad. I am delighted that Daichi has chosen to join Crystal Palace from the many options he had and work once more with Oliver. I am certain Palace fans will relish watching him in the weeks, months and years to come at Selhurst Park.”
