Everton’s poor form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium continues as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

David Moyes’ side went ahead in the clash through Iliman Ndiaye, as he converted from the penalty spot in the first half.

But it all unravelled for Everton in the second half, as Rayan and Amine Adli netted for the visitors, whilst Jake O’Brien was shown a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

HOW on earth have Everton ended up losing that? 😡

Something drastically needs to change on home soil… 🫣

It was also an evening to forget for Thierno Barry, as he missed an absolute sitter before being dragged off on the hour mark.

Barry’s reaction said a thousand words.

Thierno Barry was distraught when he was substituted in Everton vs Bournemouth

Moyes hauled Barry off in the 62nd minute, which is the earliest time he’s been substituted since the Nottingham Forest win at the start of December.

The Frenchman was replaced by Beto, and when he reached the substitutes bench, he sank his head into his hands.

The cameras then panned back to him several minutes later, and Barry was still visibly distraught, not even looking up to the pitch.

The image speaks volumes, as recent reports have suggested that Barry could be replaced by Liam Delap in the summer transfer window.

Moyes admitted he wants more from Barry in a recent press conference: “But, I have to say, I need him to score more.

“You’re young, you’re relatively inexperienced at this level, but that goes right out the window.”

Thierno Barry’s stats vs Bournemouth

Everton decided against signing a striker in January, with Moyes placing his full trust in Barry for the remainder of the season.

That isn’t looking like the right decision at the moment, as the 23-year-old seems to have hit another poor patch of form.

It’s not possible to score every game, but Barry’s hold-up play was so poor against the Cherries, as evinced by his Sofascore statistics.

He lost the ball six times and only won three of his nine aerial duels.

62 minutes

22 touches

6 times possession lost

6 aerial duels lost

63% pass accuracy

1 big chance missed

Beto didn’t make much of an impact when he came on either, so perhaps it’s time for Braiden Graham to get a chance in the first-team.
