Liverpool will be missing the hugely influential Dominik Szoboszlai for the trip to Sunderland, but there remains an outside chance Joe Gomez could return.
Not only did Liverpool lose from a winning position over the weekend, but they also lost their best player of the season after Szoboszlai was shown a straight red card against Man City.
Thankfully, it is only a one-match ban for the Hungarian, but it does mean Arne Slot will have to turn to another right-back option in his absence.

Slot was hopeful Gomez could have been among the substitutes against Man City, but the defender was not passed fit and the expectation was he would miss Wednesday’s fixture.
On the eve of the clash, though, Slot hinted there could still be a chance for the No. 2 to be named in the squad as he was due to return to training on Tuesday after more than two weeks out.
“Indeed if Joe’s not ready to start then we’re missing four players who have played in that position,” Slot said of Gomez’s potential return.
A start would be unlikely, meaning either Curtis Jones or Wataru Endo will be named at right-back, as Calvin Ramsay was, again, brutally ruled out of the running by the head coach.
Jeremie Frimpong is still sidelined with the groin injury he sustained against Qarabag, while Conor Bradley and **Giovanni Leoni**‘s rehabilitation from long-term injuries continue behind the scenes.
Liverpool are still patiently waiting for **Alexander Isak**‘s return, which could be late next month, meaning only Gomez could be in line to return against Sunderland.
