Tottenham's Thomas Frank involved in incredibly awkward live TV interview after 2-1 defeat vs…

Thomas Frank was involved in an awkward post-match interview following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United, as he faced probing questions over his future at the club.

The Danish tactician had little to be positive about on Tuesday, as his side failed to win for an eighth game in a row and continued their winless start to 2026.

Spurs went behind just before the interval following Malick Thiaw’s strike, but briefly rallied after the break, drawing level from their first corner of the night when Archie Gray hooked the ball into the net.

Moments later, Jacob Ramsey’s low finish into the bottom corner fired Newcastle to a rare away victory and ended the Magpies’ four-game winless run in the Premier League.

Reporter Slammed for Thomas Frank Interview

Following the full-time whistle on Tuesday, Frank was asked if he could give one message to Spurs fans, who have been vocal in recent weeks about wanting a change in the dugout.

“That’s a fair question. I would just say what I do is I work very hard, I do everything we can to put a competitive team out there that is ready to fight.”

The Danish tactician’s expression said it all as he stared down the TNT Sports reporter before leaving the TV interview, while Spurs supporters were equally unimpressed with the journalist.

One supporter wrote: "Disgraceful questioning. Should be ashamed of that."

Another added: "Nah, this is unprofessional. This is like an angry fan asking questions."

Others criticised the way the questions were asked: "Horrible journalism, could ask the same question respectfully and still get the information."

Some argued the interviewer had gone too far: "The interviewer should be sacked."

The tone of the questions drew sharp reactions too: "What a stupid series of questions. I’m surprised Frank didn’t walk out."

And some praised Frank for his restraint: "Thomas Frank doesn't deserve such interviews. I'm glad he kept his composure. I would have said something to the journalist."

Frank Hits Lowest Spurs Win Rate

The defeat to Newcastle means Frank now has the lowest win percentage of any Tottenham manager in the Premier League era, with a win rate of just 26.9 per cent.

The Danish tactician once again faced chants of "you're getting sacked in the morning" and "we want Frank out" from the home crowd on Tuesday, amid a highly disappointing season in North London.

Spurs have slipped to 16th in the Premier League following the defeat and are just five points clear of the drop zone with 12 games to play.

They next host bitter rivals Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, before making the trip to Fulham on 1 March.
