Arsenal’s Charles Sagoe Jr has completed a loan move to Kalmar FF until the start of next year. The Premier League side confirmed his temporary transfer on Monday.
Kalmar FF sporting director Mats Winblad has been speaking to the club’s official website. He has expressed his delight over securing an agreement with Arsenal.
The official has revealed the Allsvenskan side have followed the Arsenal man for a long time.
Sagoe Jr joined the north London club’s academy from Fulham in 2015. Since then, he climbed through the ranks and represented Gunners youth teams.
Mikel Arteta handed the 21-year-old his first team debut in Arsenal’s EFL Cup win over Brentford in September 2023. He started and played 68 minutes against the Bees. That was his only appearance for the senior team.
The winger had loan spells at Swansea City and Shrewsbury Town between February 2024 and January 2025.
Since returning to the Emirates, the London-born attacker represented Arsenal U21s last year. His performances would have caught Kalmar FF’s attention.
“Great that he is finally here! Charles is a player we have been following for a long time. He is very athletic, has really good speed and likes to drive the ball at high pace and challenge his opponent,” he said.
“Now he is stepping into training and hopefully we will see him in the game already on Saturday against IFK Norrköping.”

“It feels very good to be here and I am really excited to get started, start training and get to know my new teammates. I am looking forward to showing my qualities on the pitch and contributing to winning matches,” Sagoe Jr explained.
“This is a good step for me. After talking with the director and the management staff, I got a strong feeling that this was the right environment for me. Now I want to take advantage of the opportunity and help the team achieve good results in Allsvenskan.”
