While fixtures between ourselves and Brentford have been few and far between across our respective histories, recent years have seen plenty of memorable encounters.
There’s been late drama, excellent goals and famous debuts when we’ve gone toe-to-toe with our fellow Londoners, and we’ve picked out five of the best matches for you to enjoy again:
**September 26, 2018**
**Arsenal 3-1 Brentford**
The sides met for the first time in 71 years when we were drawn against the Championship Bees in the League Cup, but we took little time in establishing our dominance when Danny Welbeck headed in a fine Matteo Guendouzi cross on five minutes, and the striker doubled our lead and his tally when he finished off a slick passing move on 37 minutes.
After the break the second-tier side got back into the contest when Alan Judge curled in a free-kick, but despite that scare, we safely made it through to round four when Alexandre Lacazette snuck through and tucked home
**September 18, 2022**
**Brentford 0-3 Arsenal**
We made it six wins from seven at the start of the season thanks to this success in west London, which was kick-started by William Saliba flicked a header in off a post on 17 minutes, before Gabriel Jesus added a second with a superb header of his own from a fine Granit Xhaka delivery.
Four minutes after the break Fabio Vieira then let fly from 25 yards and beat David Raya with another woodwork-assisted strike, but perhaps the most memorable moment was when Ethan Nwaneri came off the bench late on to become the Premier League’s youngest ever player, aged 15 years and 181 days.
**November 25, 2023**
**Brentford 0-1 Arsenal**
Kai Havertz grabbed a late winner to ensure Mikel Arteta could celebrate his 200th game as our boss with us sitting on top of the Premier League. Leandro Trossard thought he’d given us the lead but saw his close-range header ruled out for offside in the build-up, while Oleksandr Zinchenko was required to hack off his goalline to deny Neal Maupay.
But the big moment arrived in the 89th minute when Bukayo Saka floated over a devilish delivery that allowed Havertz to get around the back of the home defence, and steer a downward header between Mark Flekken and his near post to clinch a big win.
**March 9, 2024**
**Arsenal 2-1 Brentford**
History repeated itself later in the season when Havertz again left it late to secure all three points and again move us back to the top-flight summit. Things were going to plan when Declan Rice planted a header past Flekken on 19 minutes, but just before half-time Yoanne Wissa charged down an Aaron Ramsdale clearance and forced in an equaliser.
Our keeper made amends when he acrobatically tipped away a 45-yard snapshot from Ivan Toney, and that proved crucial as with four minutes to go, Ben White grabbed a second assist of the afternoon when his floated cross was powered home by Havertz to sting the Bees once again.
**January 1, 2025**
**Brentford 1-3 Arsenal**
We kicked off 2025 with a bang with this win at Brentford, but like many who had waited to see in the new year the previous night, we started sluggishly and Bryan Mbeumo put the hosts ahead, but Gabriel Jesus instinctively pulled us level a minute after Raya clawed the ball off his line at the other end.
The second half saw us move up a gear and five minutes after the restart Mikel Merino hacked the ball into the net after a scramble inside the box, and with Brentford still reeling Gabriel Martinelli swiftly rammed in a third to allow the party to continue for a little longer.
