Report: Nottingham Forest keeping tabs on Dyche replacement who could save Edu

Edu has come under severe pressure since arriving at Nottingham Forest to work with Evangelos Marinakis.

The Global Head of Football has caused quite a stir with some of his recruitment and work behind the scenes on Trentside, with Marinakis watching his every move.

Edu fell out with Nuno Espirito Santo, which led to his departure from the City Ground, and that decision has seen the boardroom figure criticised ever since.

Doubts have emerged over the future of Sean Dyche at Forest and it’s come to light that the Reds are watching another head coach very closely.

Nottingham Forest watching Oliver Glasner closely

According to The Athletic, Forest are closely watching Glasner as he prepares to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.

The Austrian head coach is leaving the Eagles after Steve Parish failed to back the boss over a number of transfer windows, with the incumbent a free agent in the summer.

Any move from Forest is unlikely to be viable until the off-season, and naturally, Forest will need to avoid relegation if they have any chance of poaching him.

Glasner has worked wonders with Palace, leading the team to FA Cup glory in May and then backing it up by winning the Community Shield in August.

Dyche on borrowed time at Forest

Forest opted to appoint Dyche way too early into the season, with around 90 points still left to play for when he arrived.

The performances under the current head coach have been abhorrent at times, and a defeat to Wolves tonight could signal the end of his short spell in charge of the club.

Forest are sleepwalking towards relegation, and whenever a chance has arisen to pull clear of the bottom three, the Reds have wasted it with a truly drab performance.

It’s now intriguing that names are being mentioned as being considered by Forest and quite clearly, there have been some conversations behind the scenes.

Appointing Glasner – or someone of that ilk – would be ideal for Edu, who needs a big decision to go his way to remove some of the heat from the fan base.
