Thomas Frank has been sacked by Tottenham after Tuesday’s 2-1 home loss to Newcastle proved to be the final straw for the Spurs hierarchy.

Spurs officially announced on Wednesday that they had parted company with Frank following an underwhelming eight months in charge.

Spurs chiefs held talks in the hours after a seventh home league defeat of the season, which saw the club drop to 16th in the table and just five points clear of the relegation zone.

Sections of the home support on Tuesday loudly demanded Frank’s sacking, and now a new face will be in the dugout for the visit of rivals Arsenal on February 22.

A club statement read: “The club has taken the decision to make a change in the men’s head coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.

Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.
