It would have been easy for Sesko’s head to drop in recent weeks. He has not been in the starting XI under Carrick and he was receiving plenty of criticism from Gary Neville and Co.
But those in and around Carrington say Sesko has an elite mentality, and that has shone through at the start of 2026.

Sesko has continued to work hard behind the scenes and it is now paying off with five goals in his last six matches.
No one can blame Carrick for going with an unchanged XI vs West Ham considering the free-flowing football that has been played in recent weeks, but Sesko has done more than enough to warrant a starting spot.
