West Ham United 1-1 Manchester Utd

by Staff Writer

Wednesday, 11th February 2026

West Ham were denied what would've been a huge three points in the battle against relegation by a 96th minute leveller for the visitors.

Having taken the lead right at the start of the second half through Tomas Soucek, Nuno Santo's side were looking for back-to-back wins and clean sheets following the 2-0 victory at Turf Moor on Saturday.

But with little more than one of the seven added-on minutes left to play, Man Utd substitute Benjamin Sesko struck to deny West Ham in the cruellest fashion.

The Hammers, full of confidence following the excellent recent run which has dragged the club back into contention should've put the game to be prior to the visitors' equaliser, with Callum Wilson missing a great chance to put the game beyond Michael Carrick's side in the closing moments.

Fellow substitute Adama Traore also spurned a good chance as Man U left many gaps at the back while chasing the game. But in the end the Hammers had to settle for a point, which closed the gap on 17th-placed Nottingham Forest to just two points.
