Ryan Christie brands Hill Dickinson Stadium atmosphere 'hostile' as Bournemouth beat Everton

Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium woes continued on Tuesday night as Bournemouth left with all three points.

After beating Fulham at the weekend, this was a chance for Everton to push on further.

But, despite going a goal ahead through Iliman Ndiaye, Everton fell to defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Rayan and Amine Adli scoring for the visitors.

Everton then saw Jake O’Brien sent off for denial of a goalscoring opportunity.

Despite losing O’Brien, Everton did apply some late pressure, but a resolute Bournemouth backline saw the Cherries leave with a win.

The result has only increased the focus on the Hill Dickinson Stadium and how Everton appear to be really struggling at their new home.

After the game, Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie gave his thoughts about the stadium after his first visit.

Everton have now gone six games without a win at the Hill Dickinson.

After a promising start following the move from Goodison Park, the Toffees have suddenly started to struggle and many are at a loss as to why.

Some have questioned whether the atmosphere has played a part.

Goodison was known for being intimidating, but potentially this is not currently the case at HDS.

For Ryan Christie though, the atmosphere was actually impressive and he found it a tough place to play.

He told Premier League Productions (via Bournemouth Echo): “Brilliant result, obviously we’re delighted

David Moyes’ latest response about Hill Dickinson struggles

Moyes was again asked about Everton’s current struggles at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after the loss to Bournemouth in his post-match press conference.

But the manager didn’t point to any atmosphere problems.

He merely puts it down to other teams being strong. He said: “Playing good teams in the Premier League. We’re playing them away from home as well. But we’re playing good teams. Bournemouth are a good team.”

In the build up to the game though, Moyes had suggested that visiting teams may enjoy coming to Hill Dickinson, perhaps suggesting he feels there is a lack of a fear factor.
