Richarlison blasts 'fake news' over Tottenham exit claims amid Everton interest

Everton fans’ hopes of seeing a Richarlison return have been met with a fierce rejection, as the Tottenham Hotspur forward has accused one journalist of spreading ‘fake news’ over a summer exit agreement.

A recent report from ESPN Brazil has suggested that Richarlison and Tottenham have already agreed a summer exit pact, which would allow him to depart for just £21.5m.

However, the Brazilian forward has now broken his silence over on his Instagram account to share his honest thoughts on the report.

Everton have been linked with a Richarlison return for a number of months now, but that has taken a real blow.

Richarlison is currently sidelined at Tottenham through a hamstring injury, which has kept the 28-year-old out of action for five games now.

“This guy has been spreading fake news for two years saying I’m leaving Tottenham,” Richarlison told his followers.

“First you should check the facts before releasing them to the media. I tried sending messages to ask him to stop, but he still continues.”

Other reports from Brazil have suggested that Richarlison would be open to joining Flamengo after the World Cup in the summer.

One thing that is very clear is that the forward is not standing for the speculation that he has slammed as “fake news”.

Richarlison set for Tottenham chaos after managerial sacking

Things are going from bad to worse in north London as Tottenham have just sacked Thomas Frank after less than a year in charge.

It is believed that former Everton defender John Heitinga will become Tottenham’s interim manager until the end of the season.

Spurs are facing the serious threat of relegation currently as they sit just five points above the drop zone.

If Spurs were to get relegated, then it would put the future of Richarlison and many other under obvious scrutiny.

And even if they don’t get relegated, another underwhelming season is on the cards for Spurs, with Everton finally looking like a side who could be capable of pushing for those European spots.
