Arsenal star set for return to training while trio will be assessed ahead of Brentford clash

**Max Dowman is set to return to Arsenal training next week.**

The youngster has been sidelined since December after suffering an ankle injury.

But he is closing in on a return to training in a boost for boss Mikel Arteta, though will not be fit enough to play on Thursday against Brentford.

Arteta says he does not yet know whether Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard will be fit to play against the Bees, however.

Trossard, meanwhile, was forced off late on in the win over Sunderland last time out.

Arteta says all three will be assessed ahead of the clash to determine whether they can be involved.

“Max is still not available, the rest we will see when we make the medical meeting,” Arteta said.

“Max is doing very well. I think he will be with us in a week or so and then he just needs to pick up the rhythm and be available for us.”
