Tony Bellew fires back at Hill Dickinson Stadium criticism as Everton's poor home form continues

Everton suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

David Moyes’ side have struggled at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, and last night’s result was further evidence of their woes at home.

Everton are actually languishing towards the bottom of the Premier League home table, so it’s ultimately going to cost them in the race for Europe.

With that said, Tony Bellew has just fired back at claims that the new 52,000-seater stadium has been a negative change from Goodison Park.

Tony Bellew urges Everton fans to be patient amid home form worries

Now, the former World Champion boxer has urged supporters to stay patient, as frustration grows around the dreadful home form at the Hill Dickinson.

David Moyes needs to take the handbrake off at home

The home form seems to be a tactical issue, rather than the stadium.

Moyes’ side struggle to break down a low block, and that’s because the Scotsman is often far too pragmatic.

Adam Aznou and Nathan Patterson should be deployed as full-backs, for a start, as they provide much more of an attacking threat than Vitalii Mykolenko and Jake O’Brien.

Tyler Dibling should also be given more opportunities centrally, as many believe his best position is an attacking midfielder.

But, all of those methods are unlikely to be given a go, as the Everton manager can be quite stubborn sometimes.

It’s important to add context that Moyes is doing a tremendous job, and he will argue that this is still a team moving away from Sean Dyche’s rigid style.

Everton won’t become a European-level side overnight; it will take multiple transfer windows to address key areas that have previously been neglected.
