The six Everton players out of contract at the end of the season

Everton will have to have a mini rebuild in the summer transfer window as several players are due to leave.

Everton have the third-oldest average age in the Premier League, so naturally, there are a number of veterans coming towards the end of their contract.

David Moyes will also lose two players at the end of their loan contracts, although they could both join on a permanent deal.

With that said, here are the six players out of contract at Finch Farm this summer.

Everton have six key players due to leave in June

Moyes will have to contend with some key departures in June, especially from his leadership team.

Seamus Coleman, who is club captain, is entering potentially the final few months of his playing career, although it wouldn’t at all be surprising if he joins Moyes’ coaching staff.

Idrissa Gana Gueye is another senior player who could end a long spell on Merseyside, and Michael Keane is expected to leave after nine years.

Jack Grealish and Tyrique George are due to return to Manchester City and Chelsea, respectively, but they both have options to buy in their loan deals.

Merlin Rohl is another first-teamer who is technically out of contract in June, but his loan deal will turn into an obligation to buy if the Toffees avoid relegation, which looks likely.

Everton are already lining up Michael Keane’s replacement

Preparation is already underway to seemingly replace Keane this summer.

It has emerged over recent days that Everton are showing a serious interest in Marcos Senesi, who is also set to become a free agent.

Senesi has been a stalwart for Bournemouth over the last few seasons and would be a brilliant addition to Everton’s backline.

The 28-year-old can operate as a centre-back and as a left-back, so he’d bring much needed versatility.

However, the Toffees will have to fend off interest from the likes of Chelsea and Juventus to land his signature.
