Chloe Kelly reacts to 4-0 win over Leuven

_Arsenal were 4-0 winners in Leuven in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League tie on Wednesday night. Chloe Kelly made her first start since a knee injury sustained in November and helped herself to an assist. She spoke in the mixed zone post-match, the question in italics is from Arseblog News._

**On her thoughts on the game…**

We are feeling very good and we are building momentum together as a team. A good display tonight, but we know it’s only half time. There’s gonna be another tough test next week. Amazing to see the stadium full and to play against a top Leuven side. We knew we had to be at our best tonight and to be clinical inside the box and we’re ruthless in both boxes, so I think we put on a good display today.

**On her return from injury…**

I am feeling really good building minutes in the legs, building momentum, getting the rustiness out of them. I feel grateful to step on the pitch in this badge, as always. We want to keep building momentum both in the league and the Champions League and then soon going into the FA Cup. But I think where we are as a team at the moment, we want to stay there, keep building together forwards. As you can see, it’s a real together group and we’re in a really good place at the minute and we want to keep moving forwards together.

**On Kim Little making her 400th Arsenal appearance tonight…**

She’s amazing, honestly, seeing her tonight, make her 400th appearance and we were just speaking in the changing room, her first game was against Leeds in about 2008? I think it just shows what Kim is to this club, she’s who we all want to be and she leads by example and she’s amazing to look up to. I’m grateful to share the pitch with such an amazing leader and great person, as well.

_**On the freedom her and Caitlin Foord had tonight to rotate positions…**_

It’s great to be able to play off both sides, both me and Caitlin and mixing that up during game, I think, is really important to pose a different threat to both full backs. I think as long as we can keep doing that, it builds momentum for us, and find confidence on one side, go to the other and keep feeling that. I think it’s really important to keep moving in that direction together, left and right, poses different threats and then Liv in the nine, something different to Less (Russo). So I think it’s great to build relationships together that we can take into every game.

**On Olivia Smith adapting to being a centre-forward…**

Two games, two goals, so she’s doing something right! I think it just, it puts her in really good positions to score. She’s a natural goal threat, so I think it’s amazing to see her shining, both on the wing and the nine- she’s amazing for us. She brings something so different as well and is so clinical in front of goal.

**On whether the squad rallied around Smith after her red card against Manchester United…**

You don’t really need to do too much. I think she knows what went wrong in that moment and you’re soon over it, because you learn straight away as soon as you’re walking away from the pitch, so she’s an amazing young girl. Amazing character, as well, and she’s got the world at her feet. I enjoy playing with her. Both on and off the pitch she’s incredible, so we can learn from each other as well, I can always learn from her.

**On what she learns from Kim Little…**

Kim leads by example and she’s who we want to be and as a club and individually. I think she does lead by example, both on and off the pitch, her character is amazing. She just does everything well. She does the basics well and off the pitch as well, everything’s just done to precision. So I think for any young player coming into the setup, looking up to someone like Kim Little is amazing.
