**West Ham United’s luck this season has been little to none, with the unfortunate circumstances occurring once again last night.**
Nuno’s side played a blinder last night, a perfectly executed gameplan, playing with a front two would’ve seen West Ham concede at least three or more due to the fact that Manchester United at the moment, have swift attacking play which counters teams and that’s how they have beaten sides such as Arsenal and Manchester City. The idea was to nick a goal, which we did through Soucek’s excellence, and then to defend for the remainder of the game, which should’ve gotten us three points.
The mysterious minutes that were added on were just a tip over the iceberg for the Hammers. It’s a brilliant finish by Sesko, admittedly, but the fact that they even had the opportunity to get the shot off is dreadful! How were there 7 minutes of additional time? I’d love to see how that conclusion was reached.
To add on to our last-minute blow, on the other side of London, Leeds managed to secure a draw against Chelsea in the luckiest fashion. The Blue had a moment of capitulation where their defence decided to malfunction, gifting Leeds an equaliser, not to mention there was also a handball in the buildup which was deemed to be fine by VAR, but to place the cherry on top, Cole Palmer missed a wide open goal in added time which would’ve won Chelsea the game. Leeds’ point now places them 6 points above West Ham.
Not to mention, our other relegation candidate, Nottingham Forest, is set to take on Wolves tonight, which doesn’t fill me up with excitement given that Wolves have only beaten one side this season and that was us… but with that said, anything can happen in Football.
Luck can only be hoped for to a certain degree in Football and you do need it in the position we find ourselves in, but unfortunately, it’s not something that can be relied upon and constantly, we are on the bad side of luck. But all is still to play for.
