Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Sean Dyche, becoming the second club within 24 hours to part ways with their replacement for Ange Postecoglou.
At 10:17am UK time on Wednesday (9:17pm AEDT), Tottenham Hotspur put a statement on their website confirming reports that they had let go of Thomas Frank, who took over from Postecoglou before the start of this season.
That decision wasn’t much of a shock given Spurs’ dire form that sees them sitting just five points above the relegation zone, but the decision by Forest about 14 hours later was more of a surprise.
The club announced the departure of Dyche at 12:30am UK time on Thursday (11:30am AEDT), just a few hours after the club had eked out a scoreless draw against bottom-placed Premier League side Wolves.
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach,” the two-sentence statement said.
“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.”
