The 54-year-old becomes the third head coach to be potted by Angelos Marinakis this season after Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou were also sent their marching orders.

It comes after Forest were held to a 0-0 draw at home to bottom side Wolves last night, which leaves them hovering nervously, three points above the dropzone.

"Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach,” the club said in a statement.

“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

"We will be making no further comment at this time.”
