Sunderland fell to a 1-0 defeat against Liverpool at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night
Régis Le Bris has urged his Sunderland players to show their resilience after their unbeaten home record in the Premier League came to an end on Wednesday night.
Sunderland were the last club in the division to remain unbeaten on home turf this season but were beaten by an impressive Liverpool side. Le Bris said Sunderland's achievement in reaching February unbeaten at home was 'outstanding' and urged everyone to keep making it a difficult place to play.
"Yeah, I want to take the positive - to have that record was outstanding," Le Bris said.
"It's done and now we want to keep this place hard to play and I think that will be the case for the future as well. I think we showed it this evening. It wasn't easy for Liverpool to win here, so it's the most important thing for me. We want to be brave, we want to be intense, we want to be hard to play, and it was the case. After that, the result is the result. You can't control everything."
Le Bris said his side had to stay resilient despite losing back-to-back games against two very strong opponents.
"We have to keep the same mentality," Le Bris said.
"The journey in the Premier League, especially for a newly promoted side, it's not easy. It's normal to struggle at times, especially against the best teams in this league. Resilience is key, and I think so far we showed that we have this quality."

Régis Le Bris reacts to Nilson Angulo's first start for Sunderland
One positive from the game for Sunderland was a bright full debut from Nilson Angulo. Le Bris said the Ecuador international will need time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League but felt he showed his promise in his performance.
"Yeah, the gap in the Premier League is big, so it's still important to give him time and support," Le Bris said.
"I think he showed good quality at times with the ball and good composure. He had the opportunity to attack the box three or four times. Now he needs to learn."
