It is now two Premier League managers sacked inside 24 hours.
Tottenham firing Thomas Frank on Wednesday, after his team lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle United. Spurs panicking as they dropped to fifth bottom, only five points off the drop.
Now it is Nottingham Forest (again!!!) sacking their manager.
A goalless draw seeing trigger happy Evangelos Marinakis sacking Sean Dyche after a goalless home draw against Wolves. The Forest owner sacking Dyche in the early hours of this (Thursday) morning with an official statement released.
That briefest of statements reading; ‘Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
‘We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.’
Nottingham Forest had 35 shots last night but couldn’t find a single goal, that goalless draw against Wolves leaving Forest fourth bottom and only three points off the drop.
The reporting across the media is that the Forest owner is thinking of now bringing in jobless Vitor Pereira, who was sacked in November by…Wolves!
By the time (still) rock bottom of the table Wolves sacked Pereira in November 2025, the Nottingham Forest owner had already sacked two managers.
Only 23 days after kicking off their season, Nuno Espirito Santo sacked on 9 September 2025 after the manager had picked up four points from Forest’s first three Premier League matches of the season.
That same day, Forest announced Ange Postecoglou as his replacement.
Only 39 days and five PL matches later, Evangelos Marinakis setting a new Premier League record as he sacked Postecoglou after such a brief time in charge, Forest picking up one point in his five Premier League matches.
Marinakis almost showing great patience in comparison, as he has give Sean Dyche three and a half months and 18 Premier League matches before sacking him. Dyche picking up 22 points in his 18 PL games, Forest having actually lost only one of their last six Premier League matches, picking up nine points in the half dozen games.
