What Morgan Gibbs-White did in the 74th minute vs Wolves suggested Dyche was done at Nottingham …

Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Wolves as the Reds saw their relegation concerns become even greater.

Sean Dyche was sacked after this abysmal performance, in which the second half merely passed Forest by with a whimper, and the odd half chance was the only thing to shout about.

Sum up Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest tenure in THREE words

What a mess!

Dyche had good wins over Liverpool, Tottenham and Brentford since coming to the club, but abhorrent showings against Leeds, Everton x2, Fulham, Aston Villa and now Wolves have led Forest to look for a fourth manager of the season.

Vitor Pereira is the early contender for the job, but it could be slim pickings for the Reds with just 12 games now remaining for the club to preserve its Premier League status.

Morgan Gibbs-White act suggests the damage was done for Sean Dyche

Emotions ran high in the stands as Forest struggled to find a breakthrough against a hapless Wolves team, who defended superbly well, it has to be said.

Boos rang around the stadium after every poor moment, and poor Omari Hutchinson copped the brunt of the criticism from the fans in the 74th minute.

After earlier fizzing a corner straight into the side-netting with his left foot, Hutchinson did exactly the same thing again, with fans letting him know from the Trent End exactly how they felt about his incompetence.

Gibbs-White, who has so often been firmly with the fan base, turned on the supporters, urging them to get off the back of Hutchinson, who looked disconsolate after his mistake.

That in itself suggested that Gibbs-White clearly wanted to take his frustration out on Dyche’s turgid tactics, with the captain also refusing a handshake from his manager after being subbed at Leeds.

Dyche lost the Forest dressing room

Ultimately, the players never bought into the ethos that Dyche added to the football club.

His methods are dated and tired, with the players clearly unhappy with what they were being asked to do out on the pitch under his management.

Gibbs-White has looked largely frustrated in recent weeks, and if the players can see the manager is tactically naive to change in-game situations, it would appear the writing is on the wall.

Dyche has paid the price for his awful inability to utilise his squad and now, it will be a case of next man up for the Forest hot seat.
