Nottingham Forest have sacked another manager, with Sean Dyche carrying the can for a drab 0-0 draw with Wolves.
The club, rock bottom of the Premier League, almost left with all three points, but a smart save from Stefan Ortega preserved the point for the Reds.
Dyche was sacked in the early hours of Thursday morning after being called back to the City Ground by Evangelos Marinakis after everyone else had left the stadium.
Sum up Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest tenure in THREE words
What a mess!
Ultimately, the results against teams around Forest in the league have cost Dyche his job with drab performances against Leeds, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton twice.
What senior Forest players told Evangelos Marinakis
According to TalkSPORT, Marinakis called on five senior players to head to his office after the 0-0 draw with Wolves, with discussions held about Dyche’s position.
Quite clearly, the players weren’t having the head coach, and Marinakis decided to part company with the incumbent, who oversaw just two wins from the last 10 games.
It’s believed that players held reservations over Dyche’s tactical nous and also his training ground methods, which were largely centred around running drills.

That led to players coming into matches not feeling fresh, with players such as Callum Hudson-Odoi looking as though they’ve been carrying some sort of niggle all season.
It’s not clear who the senior players were, although it’s likely that captain Ryan Yates and vice-captain Morgan Gibbs-White were two of them.
Marinakis right to pull the plug on Dyche
With six wins, Dyche had steadied the ship, but it’s not unfair to say that, given the teams he’s played, the team should now be well clear of the relegation zone.
Drab results and performances against Everton, twice, Fulham and Leeds have led to this decision, and Dyche will surely hold some regrets over some of the decisions he made.
Would absolutely love this… 🤞
Thomas Frank question.
It was a romantic appointment from the off, with Dyche playing for the club’s youth team and nineties legends Ian Woan and Steve Stone coming as part of his coaching staff.
Dyche was well off the pace with his methods in the modern era, however, and after this debacle, it’s hard to see the head coach working at another Premier League club any time soon.
Player power is rife and now the onus is on the players to park this drab episode and get Forest to safety over the final 12 games of the season.
