Everton missed out on signing Liam Delap during the summer transfer window and the striker’s decision to join Chelsea has been questioned.
Jamie Carragher is convinced that Delap made the wrong choice over the summer in signing for Chelsea.
Even at this stage of the season, Everton remain in need of another striker as their current options fail to provide the goals on a consistent basis.
David Moyes was left almost pulling his hair out on Tuesday night as he witnessed his side throw away three points on Merseyside.
Alan Shearer has said Everton are missing too many opportunities during their games, with Thierno Barry leaving a lot to be desired against Bournemouth.

It has recently been reported that Everton remain keen on Delap as he continues to experience issues at Chelsea.

The Englishman joined Chelsea in the summer for £30m after the Toffees were one of the teams keen to land him from Ipswich Town.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Carragher has admitted he thinks Everton would have been the perfect club for Delap.

“It was a bad move honestly to Chelsea,” said Carragher.
“I just think young players when they’re on a journey getting better this idea that the jump for me from Ipswich to Chelsea is too big, you need something in the middle, Everton, playing centre forward for Everton every game and knowing even if you have a few bad games or you’re injured you’re going to play again.”
Ironically, Gabriel Agbonlahor also said Delap should have joined Everton just one week ago.
The move to London really is not working out for the young striker and Everton have already shown their openness to taking on players that have struggled at Stamford Bridge.
Liam Delap must leave Chelsea to better his career
Having made the move to a Champions League club in Chelsea, there may well be a case to be made that Delap should take a step down to better his own career.
Delap has only been able to find the back of the net once in the Premier League this season, which is not good enough for a player targeting the England squad this summer.
Everton News columnist Alan Myers has tipped Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to become Everton captain on the back of his sensational move from Chelsea.
The midfielder has set the example for how players sometimes need to step away from clubs like Chelsea to further their own careers.
This is something that Delap should be taking note of.
