FOREST 0 WOLVES 0: WOLVES FANS TALK

Wolves fans share their thoughts following a point away at the City Ground

Well, I’m embarrassed by that performance in the first half…..words are unprintable I’m afraid.

We should have been at least 4-0 down. The second half was a different game defensively but we still got rinsed in the midfield and wide areas, Jose Sa saving us with a double save. No attacking threat, no crosses to Tolu which sums up why in some ways Strand Larsen struggled to get chances, ironically getting two for Palace tonight.

The only solice was a fortunate clean sheet and a point away against a team who had over 30 chances!! Mané could have won it but it was saved, it would have been akin to Dick Turpin holding up Robin Hood for his loot. The Forest fans booed their team and at the end of the game.

I can’t see us winning a game before the end of the season, for some that could mean voting with their feet next season, if not the rest of this season.

I really do not know where to start apart from saying it was one of the worst performances I have witnessed.

The pass accuracy again was horrific and we gave the ball away in dangerous places too many times. It was all round a very bad performance. Bad possesion, bad crosses, bad throw ins, it was just bad.

The substitutions for me were poor although Hugo Bueno did look tired. How can Jackson be on? One good cross and then nearly scored an own goal and horrific passing. Why not Lima?

Tolu had to chase his own knock downs and the midfield just did not exist.

We looked at times as if we were just a team that did not have a clue what each other were doing. I did not see anything positive from the signings either.

We were lucky that Forest were also poor and could not convert their chances because we could have easily lost 3-0 if not more. We never looked like we wanted to go ahead and win the game.

Best moment was for was the Sa save.

DAVE

Awful performance, but somehow a point and a clean sheet.

Let’s not dress it up we were poor. No threat, no composure, and second best all evening. If it wasn’t for José Sá and Forest’s awful finishing, we lose that game comfortably. Simple as that.

Yes, we kept a clean sheet yes we huffed and puffed, but we rode our luck massively.

Almost undeservedly nearly nicked it right at the end but overall we’ve got to be miles better than that.

1st half we had no chance because we seemed to be half asleep. We woke up in the 2nd half but we really struggled to find the back of the net but so did they. The fans were great again. Some great new chants to bring back home.

Before kick-off, I was pleased to see us return to the system that usually works well for this Wolves side, especially after the issues we saw in the previous game. We all know that setup did not work.

We started on the back foot. Forest were all over us early on, pressing well and making it hard for us to win the ball or build any momentum. Our passing was sloppy at times, and we offered very little in attack. We did not trouble Forest’s goalkeeper, and we needed to test him far more. Instead, we kept inviting pressure and were fortunate not to go behind. Too many players were below their usual level.

Rob has to get this side going in the second half because that first-half performance was poor. We created very little and, honestly, it was one of the weakest halves of football we have seen in a while.

The second half began much like the first. Once again, we allowed Forest to attack us and control long spells of the game. It was difficult to watch.

I also have to question Rob’s substitutions tonight. They left us looking unbalanced and did not improve our play. Our wing-back play, in particular, was not at the standard we need.

We did have a few chances after the break, but we still failed to truly test the goalkeeper. Too many shots went straight at him. Overall, this performance was well below the level we wanted, and it is really disappointing.

Still, we got a point, and we were lucky at times under that level of pressure. Jose Sa kept us in the game, and the clean sheet will be a boost for him. But we have to be more clinical and more composed going forward.

Now we move on to the next match after the FA Cup tie, and that will not be easy. Rob needs to find a way to get us playing again.

Player of the Match: Jose Sa

Match Rating: 4/10

Some will call a 0-0 draw boring. I do not agree. That was tense, dramatic, and, at times, genuinely worrying.

Forest played out of their skin and asked us serious questions throughout the match. The big difference was Jose Sa.

Rob Edwards also experimented with the line-up, and while you can see what he was trying to do, it did not quite click.

Man of the Match: Jose Sa, all day long. If he wants to put in performances like that every week, I will take it.

Match Performance: 6/10, mainly because Sa’s heroics kept us in the game and earned us a point.
