Aston Villa manager Unai Emery gave an injury update on Matty Cash after the win over Brighton.
The right-back was unavailable for selection on Wednesday night due to a knee injury. Lamare Bogarde started in his place, playing the full 90 minutes against Brighton.
After the 1‑0 victory over the Seagulls, Emery was asked for an update on his right-back.
“He was injured, with a small injury,” Emery said. “I don’t know if he will be available for Saturday. Each day is important for how he is progressing.”
Villa face Newcastle in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday, but it is more likely that Cash will return for the next league game against Leeds United.
Daniel Farke’s relegation-threatened side will visit Villa Park on Saturday, February 21.
Villa then travel to Wolves before facing Champions League-chasing rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
John McGinn is also currently sidelined with an injury until March, while Youri Tielemans is not expected back until after the international break.
Boubacar Kamara is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury last month.
