'We need to learn...' - Noah Sadiki delivers 'bounce back' vow after 'difficult' Sunderland…

Sunderland were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki has vowed that he and his teammates will aim to “bounce back as quick as possible” after their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

The Black Cats’ impressive unbeaten streak at the Stadium of Light came to an end courtesy of a second-half header from Virgil van Dijk, leaving Regis Le Bris’ side 11th in the Premier League table after three defeats in their last four outings.

But speaking after the final whistle on Wearside, Sadiki made it clear that the newly promoted side are determined to return to winning ways as soon as they can.

What did Noah Sadiki say after Sunderland loss vs Liverpool?

In an interview with Sunderland’s in-house media team, the midfielder said: “It was a difficult game. I think they won on details again. Like every big team we face, it's the details we need to be at attention for, and today it wasn't... I don't think during 90 minutes it was the case, but on the set-piece we concede and that's the only detail we need to focus on.

“We need to learn from our mistakes and I don't think today was only bad things and we had some good moments as well, but like I said, the details make the difference in this league and we need to reflect on it and bounce back as quick as possible.”

On the Black Cats’ unbeaten record at the Stadium of Light finally coming to an end, Sadiki added: “It was a long streak. We wanted to keep it as long as possible. Unfortunately, now it's over, but the season is not finished. We need to get our points back and win as soon as possible. We have so many more games to play, so many more games to win. I think we need to just reflect on the game, like I said, and bounce back as quick as possible.”

Attention on Wearside now turns to the FA Cup fourth round, with Sunderland set to travel to Championship strugglers Oxford United on Sunday afternoon as they bid to make it to the last 16 of the historic competition for the first time since 2015.

Addressing the importance of a decent cup run, Sadiki said: “I think the FA Cup is as important as the league. We want to go as far as possible. It's going to go through a battle at Oxford, but like I said, it's as important as the league and we need to take it seriously.”
