Everton will have a decision to make on Tyler Dibling soon if he fails to improve.
David Moyes has already called on the Everton No.20 to step up for the Toffees, having failed to score or assist a goal in 17 appearances since his Β£40m move from Southampton in August 2025.
The general feeling amongst the fanbase is that it would be an admission of failure to loan Tyler Dibling out given the size of his transfer fee β but Manchester United have shown why it may be necessary.

No shame for Everton in loaning Tyler Dibling out β just look at Amad Diallo
Expensive talents are usually good enough to slot straight in, as Bournemouth have found with Rayan and Eli Junior Kroupi.
However, the pathway to success is not always clear just because the transfer fee is large, as Amad Diallo discovered after sealing a Β£37m move to Manchester United in January 2021 at the age of 18.
Manchester United did try to bed the Ivorian in immediately like Everton are with Dibling β handing him eight appearances in the second half of that 2020/21 season following his lucrative move.
However, when it became obvious Amad was not yet at the required level, those at Old Trafford swiftly decided not to waste any more time and sent the attacker on loan to Rangers.

Even once that move failed to work out, Manchester United quickly found a new home for the Β£37m man, sending him to Sunderland where he shone, and was able to return to Old Trafford in a position to make an impact.
Moyes has left Dibling on the bench for the last two Premier League outings since criticising him in public, which is going to do his development no favours at all.
We can understand why Everton might be wary of sending the 19-year-old on loan, as another disappointing move could completely tank his value, but it needs to happen if heβs only going to sit on the bench for the Toffees.
David Moyes is not helping Tyler Dibling
Calling on Dibling to step up for Everton requires Moyes to at least give the England U21 international a chance to do so.
The Everton boss has arguably made the situation worse by putting the public eye on the teenager, only to no longer give him any opportunities to turn things around β not even 20 minutes or so at the end of the last two games.

If this banishment continues, The Friedkin Group have to find Dibling a loan move this summer.
