Sean Dyche is the newest name to emerge as a contender for the Leicester City job following his sacking at Nottingham Forest.
Just hours after being relieved of his duties at the City Ground, Dyche is in at third-favourite with bookmakers to take over at the King Power Stadium, behind Ralph Hasenhuttl and Gary Rowett.
Dyche has been linked to City several times over the past decade and he is friends with the club’s director of football Jon Rudkin.
However, the club’s recent appointments have tended to veer away from the style of football that Dyche is renowned for, in favour of a manager who prefers a possession-focused game.

City’s increasingly desperate situation and the potential for relegation to League One could change their stance on the type of manager they’re looking to bring in.
But, it would be a surprise if Dyche was to choose to immediately return to management after leaving Forest, and especially for a side towards the bottom of the Championship.
Despite being sacked, Dyche’s record at the City Ground was not too bad. Across all competitions, he won 10 games, drew six and lost nine.
It is not expected that City will have anybody new in the dugout in time for the FA Cup tie with Southampton on Saturday with interim boss Andy King to field questions at the pre-match press conference on Thursday.

The trip to St Mary’s will be King’s fourth game in charge, with defeats in his first three. In all, City have failed to win any of their last six, their most recent victory coming in the FA Cup third-round tie at Cheltenham.
While City are in action against the Saints, they could fall into the Championship relegation zone. They will drop to 22nd if Blackburn get at least a point at QPR.

Rovers themselves remain managerless. They had looked to be targeting Rowett but it seems their focus is now on Michael O’Neill.
