A mystery Premier League club are ready to put €40m on the table for Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck in the summer, after Crystal Palace ‘seriously attempted’ to get him last summer.
That’s according to FC Inter News, who specifically mention Crystal Palace in their report today. Tottenham Hotspur may be a name to keep an eye on too.
In November, Sport Witness covered reports that he and his agents felt intrigued by a move to Tottenham.
That report explained that Bisseck is eager to test himself in the Premier League at some point. He and his agents reportedly saw England as an attractive destination for him.
Crystal Palace ‘seriously attempted’
Now FC Inter News report that a ‘Premier League player’ is ready to put €40m on the table for him. They refuse to name a club but point out that Crystal Palace ‘seriously attempted’ for him last summer.
Sport Witness covered that extensively at the time. The Eagles saw two offers rejected by Inter Milan at the time. In October, a report said they had overcome two major obstacles to sign him in January.
That never happened, but now that Marc Guehi has departed, they need to secure a replacement in the summer. And they’ll certainly have the money to put €40m on the table.
Different situation at Tottenham
The situation is very different at Tottenham. They already have Cristain Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin.
But Romero has seemingly been agitating for an exit for a while. He was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid last summer. Now Real Madrid and Barcelona are in the mix.
There have also been reports that Van de Ven wants to depart this summer. And Dragusin has been linked with a return to Italy for 18 months.
So, there’s every chance they’ll need to spend big in the summer. Whether they’d spend €40m on him, is up for debate. FC Inter News do say that would only be a starting point for negotiations anyway.
For now, his main suitor remains in the shadows and mysterious. But like last summer, and in January, Bisseck is a name to keep an eye on.
