Will Smith's famous "take my wife's name out your mouth" tirade at Chris Rock is the perfect way to describe Hansi Flick's constant mention of Real Madrid. The Barcelona boss seemingly can't resist taking a dig at Los Blancos at any given opportunity.
Flick has been in charge of Barca since the summer of 2024 and he turned the El Clasico tide last season. The German led the Catalans to the La Liga title at the expense of Madrid and is looking to do so again this term.
The rivalry between the two clubs is one of the fiercest in world football. It's not unusual for opposing managers to take aim at the other El Clasico giant.
### Hansi Flick mocks Real Madrid
Flick's jabs at Los Blancos are becoming petulant though and unnecessary. His latest remark came ahead of his side's Copa del Rey clash with Atletico Madrid tonight (February 12th).
The Barca boss was asked about the Catalans' journey to the semi-finals on the cup competition. They have yet to face top-flight opposition and he responded (via [ESPN](https://x.com/ESPNFC/status/2021656882553802784)):
"Ask Real Madrid."
Flick was mocking Madrid's failure to beat Segunda Division outfit Albacete in the Round of 16. Alvaro Arbeloa's men suffered a shock 3-2 defeat away to the second-tier side in mid-January.
Barca came up against Albacete in early February and were given a run for their money. They won 2-1 on the night although Javi Moreno's late strike gave the Blaugrana a scare.
Flick was previously called out by Madridistas for his hypocrisy regarding the standards of Spanish refereeing. He hit out at Madrid's public criticism of officiating when he said:
"For me, it's just sport, it's just football. We have to protect everyone involved in the game. The fans, they all want to see the players, how they play. We need the referees, and we have to look after them and be careful. It's not fair play not to look after them, it's not showing them respect."
Flick went against those words when he [called out](https://therealchamps.com/therealchampscom/barcelona-s-hansi-flick-s-referee-criticism-branded-hypocritical-after-real-madrid-dig) Jesus Gil Manzano after Barca's 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad just months later. This didn't go unnoticed by fans who felt he was being slightly hypocritical.
### Real Madrid should make Flick eat his words
Hopefully Arbeloa is showing his Los Merengues troops the constant ridiculing coming from the Barca manager. It should serve as motivation for the team to make the German look foolish and beat their El Clasico rivals to the La Liga title.
A potential title decider could occur on May 10th when Madrid travel to Camp Nou and face the current leaders. There are 15 games remaining for Arbeloa's men to pull off an astonishing comeback and claim the title.
