The latest injury news as Wolves travel to face League Two outfit Grimsby Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup
Premier League strugglers Wolves travel to League Two promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Rob Edwards’ side are seeking their first victory on the road this season after a run of four draws and nine defeats from 13 league matches this term.
The Old Gold are winless in 16 matches in total including the final three away matches from last season, with their last win on the road being a 1-0 victory over Manchester United 10 months ago in April 2025 when Vitor Pereira was still in the dugout.
Despite their poor away form, Wolves will be hot favourites to overcome their travel sickness this weekend against lower league opposition after comfortably recording a 6-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town in the last round. However, they’ll be wary of the threat posed by Grimsby , who have already toppled Manchester United in the League Cup earlier in the campaign. Ahead of this highly-anticipated cup clash, Birmingham World takes a look at the injury news from Wolves and Grimsby Town.
Grimsby Town injury news
George McEachran: The Chelsea academy graduate was taken off with suspected cramp during the 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley but is likely to be fit and available by the weekend.
Géza Dávid Turi: The Faroe Island international midfielder is nursing a tight hamstring at the moment but is likely to be available for the contest against Wolves.
Jude Soonsup-Bell: The 22-year-old striker returned to the matchday squad after being absent with a head injury and is now in contention for a starting spot against Wolves. He’s yet to score in 14 League Two appearances.
Wolves injury news
Toti Gomes: Club captain Toti is expected to miss the trip to Grimsby with a thigh problem. The two-time Portuguese international, who has only played in 13 league matches this season, is likely to be back in late February.
Hee-Chan Hwang: The South Korean forward is out with a calf injury and is not expected to return to full fitness until late March. It leaves January signing Adam Armstrong and Tolu Arokodare as the most viable options to start in attack at Blundell Park.
Andre: The Brazilian midfielder has missed a period of matches with a calf injury but has made progress with his recovery in recent days. Edwards said this week: “He's a doubt, but we want to give him as much time as possible. He's obviously an important player. ‘We'll see.'
