**The dust settles, yet the panic rises amongst the relegation candidates who now begin the sacking spree in a desperate attempt to make do.**
West Ham United’s recent form and continuation to back Nuno has proved to be a crucial choice, Nuno faced a handful of rumours in December/January that he would be sacked due to the poor performances, but fortunately, we decided to add rather the option to remove, where we signed Paco Jemez as a coach, which has been a fantastic addition for the Hammers.
The decision to continue on has recently led West Ham on to a streak of form, which has now caused other sides to panic significantly, in which yesterday both Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest sacked their managers… Bizarre!
This can be viewed in two ways by Hammer fans: you can be worried and now fear that both sides will now have a manager bounce due to the sack, or you could acknowledge that this is what other sides have done in the past, and it tends to rarely work out.
Look at Leeds’ drastic decision in the past to sack Javi Garcia, they ended up with Sam Allardyce, who couldn’t keep them up. The same with West Brom, they achieved a draw against Manchester City and then sacked Slaven Bilic the next day. Another example, Leeds sacking Jesse Marsch in February and couldn’t stay up… the list goes on and on.
It could work drastically, but it could also severely backfire in an instant. I do believe that Tottenham could experience a manager bounce that would be quite predictable, but in all honesty, Nottingham Forest’s best chance was to rely on luck, as well as Dyche, sacking him was the wrong decision for them.
West Ham will now need to acknowledge the situation that is going on around them and make the most of it, take advantage of the chaos around. Both Spurs and Forest have European Football still and in an ideal world, they both continue later on in the competitions to give us the best fighting chance possible.
The grass sometimes isn’t always greener, but we have to focus on ourselves to ensure that we do our part. Chaos can be good, but you have to make sure you truly take advantage of it.
