Vitor Pereira is set to replace former Everton manager Sean Dyche at Nottingham Forest.
The Portuguese tactician – who was sacked by Wolves in November – is about to be tasked with keeping Nottingham Forest up after Evangelos Marinakis lost faith in Dyche.
Pereira will ring a bell amongst the Everton fanbase, having been interviewed by Farhad Moshiri in 2022 as the Toffees looked to replace Rafa Benitez – only for supporters to flood the streets in protest at the potential appointment.

Why Everton fans protested against Vitor Pereira and how the 57-year-old responded
The man from Espinho had only recently been sacked by Fenerbahce when Moshiri chose to interview him, so Everton fans felt it was a wildly uninspiring move which most likely would have led to relegation.
‘Pereira out, Lampard in’ was painted on the walls of Goodison Park as fans made themselves heard, and the man in the spotlight swiftly spoke to Sky Sports about the situation.
The soon-to-be Nottingham Forest boss said in January 2022: “Of course (it hurts). This is the first time in my career I’ve seen these types of things. I’ve never had these kind of comments about me. My CV speaks for itself. It’s the environment now because the club is not in a good position.
“The supporters have passion and this passion I think is the power of this club. I remember very well when I watched the games of Everton a few years ago, and sometimes the supporters won the game. The passion in football can be to the positive side or the negative side. In this moment, what a manager should do is bring again this positive passion for the supporters. I don’t take this as a personal attack.”

Moshiri ultimately listened to the fanbase and hired Lampard, who steered Everton to 16th in that 2021/22 campaign – finishing just four points above the relegation zone.
Everton have no reason to fear Vitor Pereira revenge
If Pereira – who complimented Everton in August – can inspire a turnaround at Nottingham Forest, David Moyes is safe from being a victim.
The Toffees have already played the Reds twice this season, recording a 3-0 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium at the start of December before a 2-0 win at the City Ground just after Christmas to take six points from Nottingham Forest.

If Pereira survives until next season, however, a meeting against the fanbase who turned on him beckons.
