Everton hope to sign Marco Senesi this summer, but it will not be simple.
The Argentina international – who was involved in the last international break alongside Lionel Messi in November – has decided not to sign a new contract at Bournemouth, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
Barcelona want Senesi too – but Matteo Moretto has now revealed that Tottenham are also trying to beat Everton to the defender as well.
If you could sign one player, who would it be Everton fans? 🤩

Managerless Tottenham now a threat for Everton in Marco Senesi hunt
Spurs just sacked Thomas Frank – but Tottenham’s recruitment team are still alert to potential bargains for whoever replaces the Dane.
Moretto has now claimed on YouTube that Senesi is a player the north Londoners are working to sign, as well as Borussia Dortmund.
The Italian said: “The Argentine defender has several clubs interested in him. The latest two to step forward are Borussia Dortmund – and keep an eye on them, because they could genuinely offer a significant package in terms of both salary and commissions – and Tottenham, who are also carrying out their own evaluations.”
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Everton could use a new face in the centre of defence as Michael Keane prepares to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, when the England international sees his own contract expire.
The full-back areas are more pressing for David Moyes, however, with the Glaswegian opting to play Joe O’Brien out of position at right-back, while Vitalii Mykolenko struggles on the left.
Marco Senesi represents the experienced option David Moyes loves
Moyes is a traditional, pragmatic manager who prefers to lean on his senior players rather than young talents.
That is why the likes of Merlin Rohl and Adam Aznou have barely featured so far this season, along with Tyler Dibling.
However, Senesi is the type of player Moyes would throw straight in to his side.
The South American can boast 104 Premier League appearances and two caps for Argentina. The 28-year-old also made 116 appearances for Feyenoord and 72 for San Lorenzo de Almagro in his homeland.
Give us your gut feeling… will Everton make it into Europe? 🌍
Everton manager David Moyes on Europe.
With a lot of young talents at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes needs the experience Senesi can provide, so we hope Everton manage to fend off Tottenham and others to land his signature.
