Newcastle United have a serious question mark over Bruno Guimaraes ahead of their FA Cup trip to Aston Villa.

The Magpies will definitely be without Lewis Miley who is expected to miss a fortnight of action for the Magpies. However, there was better news on Joelinton, who has been out with a groin injury, and Tino Livramento is now back on the grass.

When asked about Bruno, Howe said today: "Bruno - we are awaiting news on his hamstring injury.

"We are waiting for the full extent on the injury."

Speaking about Miley, Howe said: "Lewis - we are waiting day-by-day. It is a dead leg, a bad knock to his thigh. He is having scans every few days, we will wait and see on that one."

But there is hope that Joelinton may be back to play some part in the Champions League play-offs against Qarabag for the Magpies. The Brazil international has been a big miss for the black and whites.

Howe said today: "Joelinton is doing really well. I don't think he’ll make this game but it can't be too far beyond this game. He’s desperate to be involved."

Livramento has been out of action since third round day of the FA Cup after limping off in the 3-3 draw against AFC Bournemouth.

But Howe is delighted to see him back on the grass, he said: Tino is on track - early March was the early diagnosis. He's back on grass, running and building his fitness back up."
