Earlier this week, Sport Witness took a close look at Corriere Fiorentino’s positive perception about Leeds United’s Jack Harrison.
The attacker joined Fiorentina on loan from the Whites late in January. He has played twice in Serie A so far and has one assist to his name, showing quite a bit of promise in Italy.
Corriere Fiorentino described him as a breath of fresh air, as Harrison is showcasing a clear willingness to help the club.
As Fiorentina move towards recovery in Serie A, today’s Gazzetta dello Sport take a look at his future away from Leeds United.
Winger desperate for Leeds United exit
The newspaper make it clear that the 29-year-old is ‘highly motivated’ to join Fiorentina on a permanent deal. La Viola have an option to buy him permanently, having signed him on a loan.
It is believed that the winger has expressed his desire to remain in Florence. But things are unlikely to be easy as everything hinges on Fiorentina’s possible survival.
Paolo Vanoli’s side are 18th in the table and have found some form in the last few weeks. They are three points away from the 17th spot, having held Torino to a draw last weekend.
Fiorentina also want to see more from Harrison on the pitch. These two factors will decide the Englishman’s fate in the summer.
Relegation would be disastrous for Fiorentina
Beyond how things are going wrong with the table, Fiorentina are in a financial mess.
A part of their current stadium – Artemio Franchi, has been brought down to build a new home right next to it. But bureaucratic and financial problems are holding their progress back.
In case of relegation. the club can find itself in a bigger mess. This can deny them from signing players. Doubts can arise about the permanent signature of not just Harrison but also Manor Solomon.
This can prove decisive for the Leeds United player, who will have to give his all and play a role in their survival. He has experience of doing that and this can be quite handy for the Florence side.
