Newcastle United could be without six players for their trip to Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Eddie Howe’s side beat Bournemouth on penalties in the last round, while Villa won 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur.
Newcastle travel to Villa on the back of a 2-1 league victory at Spurs, a result that saw Thomas Frank lose his job in north London.
The Magpies didn’t win without a setback, however, as Bruno Guimarães was forced off late in the match with a hamstring problem.
It’s expected that the Brazilian will miss the match against Villa on Saturday, with Howe confirming that he is a major doubt.
The Newcastle boss said: “We are awaiting the full extent of his hamstring injury.”

Lewis Miley and Joelinton are also set to miss the fourth round tie.
“With Lewie we are waiting day by day,” Howe said about Miley. "He has a dead leg - he got a back knock to his thigh and has had some muscle damage. He is having scans day to day. I don’t think it is long term.
“Joelinton is doing really well, I don’t think he will make this game but he will be back soon after. He is feeling good about his body.”
Full-back Tino Livramento is also sidelined, with Howe explaining: “Tino is on track for an early March return. He is building his fitness back up and is doing everything he can.”
Emil Krafth and Fabian Schar will also be missing for Newcastle this weekend due to respective injury problems.
