How important is the FA Cup and Burton clash to West Ham?

**West Ham face Burton Albion in the FA Cup tomorrow afternoon, but just how seriously are we going to take it?**

Obviously, the priority for West Ham this season is to stay in the Premier League. So, the majority of focus is going to be on League matches.

However, I don’t think that should mean we should totally throw the FA Cup away. I’m not saying we can win it, well who knows with our excellent form and performances at the moment, but the extra FA Cup games, especially in the earlier rounds can be huge confidence boosters.

Our confidence will be sky high at the moment even though we conceded late on against Manchester United, we’re playing so well and are only four points from safety. However, it could be boosted even more with a big win against Burton, it’s also a good opportunity to give some of the squad players minutes.

I don’t think we should rotate heavily, maybe 4/5 changes from the Manchester United starting XI, that would give the fringe players to show what they can do, and get more minutes in the legs of some of the guaranteed starters.

I really think we need to take this Burton game and the whole FA Cup seriously. There isn’t really a better way to boost your confidence than getting to the next round of a cup, and we need all the boosts we can get from now until the end of the season.

We saw exactly what it can do after we beat QPR, team attitude of the team completely shifted after that win.
