Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane disagree on the score in Liverpool vs Brighton prediction

Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane are both tipping a Liverpool victory in Saturday night’s FA Cup clash against Brighton, though Carragher warns the game could be ‘flat’ following the Reds’ midweek turnaround.

The former Premier League duo gave their predictions for the meeting on the latest episode of The Overlap.

Carragher thinks Liverpool’s midweek trip to Sunderland, which they won 1-0, will have an impact.

He said: “I’m going to go 1-0 [to Liverpool]. I think the game will be a bit flat. Liverpool played Wednesday night, this is Saturday night, quick turnaround.”

Keane is also backing a victory for Arne Slot’s men, but reckons Brighton will get a goal.

The ex-Manchester United man stated: “I think 2-1 Liverpool.”

Arne Slot needs FA Cup success to salvage the season

Liverpool last won the FA Cup in 2022, but success this year feels like a must.

The Premier League campaign has gone badly, and there is a chance the Reds don’t even make the top four.

There is talk about Slot’s future as we head into the final few months of the campaign, and having no Champions League football or silverware would be very disappointing.

European success would be the best outcome, but winning the FA Cup seems like the more feasible goal.
