Crystal Palace are now set to launch an approach to hire a replacement for the departing Oliver Glasner, who Steve Parish loves.
Crystal Palace set to approach Glasner replacement
A year ago, Crystal Palace were about to take another important step towards eventual FA Cup glory and European qualification that comes with that. The future seemed brighter than ever. One year on, though, and it's tough to predict exactly what the future holds for the South London club.

Crystal Palace are set to undergo a series of changes during the summer transfer window.
Glasner is set to leave the club in the summer, there's unlikely to be no European qualification this time around, and their FA Cup defence ended in the first round in shock fashion against non-league Macclesfield. It has simply been a disastrous couple of months at Selhurst Park.
Burnley's unexpected comeback victory over Palace in midweek has hardly helped boost morale either, and Glasner couldn't help but hit out at his side following another disappointing result.
With 12 Premier League games remaining, Glasner will have to turn to the Europa Conference League if he wants to end his Palace reign in style this season.
Whether the Eagles endure success in that competition or not, their managerial hunt will commence when the Austrian departs this summer. There will be a clean slate in South London.

The focus is, therefore, beginning to turn to just who could replace Glasner when the time comes. And whilst names such as Gareth Southgate have threatened to steal the headlines as of late, another option has now emerged.
According to Sports Boom, Crystal Palace are set to commence talks with Thomas Frank over replacing Glasner, fresh from the Dane's recent Tottenham Hotspur dismissal.
Thomas Frank needs Crystal Palace move
Like Crystal Palace, Frank's reputation was far more impressive a year ago. He was regarded as a manager destined to succeed as soon as the big clubs came knocking. And so, Tottenham did exactly that - appointing the then-Brentford boss in the hope that they could turn their own fortunes around.

The Eagles have been handed a golden opportunity.
The Dane did anything but in North London, however, and was dismissed earlier this week following yet another home defeat against Newcastle United.
It's easy to allow Frank's Spurs tenure to ruin cloud his managerial ability, but Palace should look past it. Whilst he didn't succeed at Spurs, Palace would be the perfect environment and Parish is reportedly a big fan. There isn't an expectation to dominate possession at Selhust Park and there is that underdog mentality that Frank thrives in.
There's a reason why former Manchester United man Owen Hargreaves praised Frank for the "brilliant" job that he did at Brentford and he could now get the chance to repeat that at Palace.
