Evangelos Marinakis has been labelled “trigger-happy” after sacking Sean Dyche.

Dyche is the third Nottingham Forest boss to get the bullet this season, after Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou were also fired.

Vitor Pereira, who has worked under Marinakis previously at Olympiacos, is expected to become the club’s fourth manager of an extraordinary season.

Responding to Dyche’s dismissal, which came just hours after a 0-0 Premier League draw with Wolves at the City Ground, which left Forest just three points above the relegation zone, former player Peter Crouch told TNT Sports: “I looked at the (Wolves) game. I think it was 35 attempts on goal. I think they were a little bit unlucky in that particular game.

“It’s not great, but he went into the job when it wasn’t great.

“The reason they got rid of the (previous) manager was because they were losing games.

“The fact that Sean Dyche was the manager isn’t the reason they are down there.

“I think it was really trigger-happy.

“If ever now a team needs a manager to get them out of trouble you’d call on Sean Dyche.
