Whites boss Daniel Farke has provided his Leeds United team news for Sunday’s fourth round FA Cup clash at Birmingham City.
Farke was without three key players for Tuesday night’s Premier League trip to Chelsea for which Anton Stach and Pascal Struijk were sidelined with hip injuries and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was ill.
Stach suffered a hip problem prior to last Friday night’s huge 3-1 win at home to Nottingham Forest, following which Struik was also suffering from a hip issue.
The pair were both ruled out of Tuesday’s trip to Chelsea ahead of the game, prior to which Farke has revealed that striker Calvert-Lewin had been unwell.
Farke had said at Monday’s pre-Chelsea press conference that Calvert-Lewin had been struggling a little with illness but with hope that the striker would be available to face the Blues.
The Whites no 9, though, failed to make the matchday squad, joining Struijk and Stach as three key men out.
Farke said earlier in the week that Stach would probably just be back for next weekend’s Premier League clash at Aston Villa.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference. Farke said: “ We will see, we want to go into the next round but the league and to achieve survival is priority, I don’t think Struijk and Stach will be involved because there are still on the road to rehab, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back so good news and then we take decisions on why plays the game, no new injuries after the Chelsea game.”
Whites defender Sebastiaan Bornauw was spotted with ice around his ankle after being substituted ten minutes into the second half of Tuesday night’s clash at Stamford Bridge.
January window signing and Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte is also available for Sunday’s contest and not cup tied.
