The latest injury news for Liverpool and Brighton ahead of their FA Cup clash

The midfielder, who filled in as right-back during the Reds’ Premier League win over Sunderland, was forced off the pitch with what looked to be a serious ankle injury.

An exact timeframe on Endo’s absence has not been given but Slot has confirmed he will be out for ‘quite a long time’. Naturally, this is another huge blow for Liverpool, whose injury list doesn’t seem to be improving.

Latest Liverpool injury news

Endo is the latest player to be ruled out of Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures. Speaking ahead of the Brighton clash, Slot said: “For the injury, we still need to assess but it's clear and obvious he's out for quite a long time. Don't forget he is a good centre-back and midfielder too and it is not as though positions [are well filled], we're quite vulnerable there as well.”

Joe Gomez has returned to the squad but the likes of Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong remain on the side-lines, leaving the right-back position significantly weakened.

Giovanni Leoni is out long-term after suffering an ACL injury, while Alexander Isak is expected to make a ‘spring return’. A recent AXA Training Centre update confirmed the striker has stepped up to ‘light ball drills’ from indoor gym training.

Fortunately, Szoboszlai is in contention for this weekend, having served his one-match suspension against Sunderland.

Brighton latest injury news ahead of Liverpool in FA Cup

Brighton are currently dealing with several long-term injuries of their own. Solly March has not played yet this season after struggling with ongoing knee problems, and Yasin Ayari remains absent with a shoulder issue.

Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster are both out with serious knee injuries. Meanwhile, Mats Wieffer has missed the last eight Premier League games with a toe injury but he could be back in contention to face Liverpool.
